Sea Scouting History on the Hamble River 1950s

1951 Mr Reed the Group Scout Leader of the time asked a Mr Wozencroft to form a parent Committee to renovate the hut, however the Vicar wanted the Scouts to find another home as the hall was becoming unsafe. So in 1957 the Hamble Sea Scouts took possession of a Nissan hut on land set aside for the use of the children of the village by the Air Training Service.

On this land the Scouts and Guides remained in this building until in 1961 they moved into their new HQ which they erected on the same site.
